Today, Memphis turns 207, and this month, City Leadership turns 16. Two hundred and seven years of building, rebuilding, dreaming, failing, trying again, and choosing this city, over and over again.

207 years in, Memphis is still becoming. And our work, every story told, every young person encouraged to stay, every connection made, is part of the next chapter.

We're not just celebrating a birthday this week. We're participating in what comes next.
Happy birthday, Memphis. You're worth every year. πŸ™οΈ

We're so excited to welcome Jordan Spuryer to the City Leadership team as our new Executive Coordinator!
Jordan grew up right here in Memphis and earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Memphis. She brings a background in anthropology, community-based research, and civic design, including work on food access in South Memphis, international environmental impact studies, and helping build Data Midsouth, an equitable data hub for Shelby County.

In her new role, Jordan works closely with our Executive Director to keep City Leadership running smoothly, from operations and partnerships to communications and systems coordination.
We're grateful to have someone so deeply rooted in and committed to Memphis on our team. Welcome, Jordan!

Teachers shape careers, build confidence, and change the trajectory of lives, often without ever knowing the impact they've made. This Teacher Appreciation Month, we're changing that.

Take 5 minutes to write a thank-you note to a Memphis teacher. Email us your message (keep it generic to fit any teacher), and we'll handwrite it and include it in a teacher appreciation bag delivered straight to them at the Teach901 appreciation event at Swamp Bar at the end of the month. 🎁

Completely free. Genuinely meaningful.
