Courts for a Cure is THIS FRIDAY ‼️
Courts for a Cure is more than just a fun event, it’s a way to help fund cancer and cavernous malformation research and bring awareness to these terrible diseases! Here are our stories:
In 2014, Melony had a routine colonoscopy, but there was nothing “routine” about this scan! As a seemingly healthy and active person, nothing could have prepared Melony for the diagnosis she got following that scan - Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer or colon cancer. She endured two grueling rounds of chemo, multiple surgeries, and multiple bumps along her road to recovery. Despite all odds, she is proud to call herself a SURVIVOR and is cancer free to this day!
In 2016, Taylor went to bed a normal college student not realizing when she woke up, she’d spend the next two weeks fighting for her life. Her first CT showed a brain bleed which lead to the diagnosis of having a pontine cavernous malformation or a vascular mass at the top of the brain stem. Following this initial bleed and diagnosis, Taylor had another bleed requiring her to have a risky emergency surgery to remove the mass. Surgery was a success! She spent time in an inpatient rehab facility relearning almost everything. Today, she proud to call herself a SURVIVOR!
