Back home in Chicago and my good friend an AP at a local high school—asked if I’d stop by and talk to his juniors about college and life after high school.

Nothing formal, just an opportunity to share a few thoughts on one of the first major adult decisions they’ll make and hopefully leave them with something to think about.

Always happy to pour into young people when the opportunity presents itself. ❤️

Middle-class families often get stuck in the gap—not low enough income for major federal grants, but not wealthy enough to skip the stress. But you can still make it work if you move smart. No-essay, last-minute scholarships won’t carry you—you need consistency. Start early. Apply often. There’s a lot of underused scholarship money out there.

This is your reminder that your future doesn’t have to be either/or.

You can ask questions. You can explore options. You can talk to admissions counselors about your goals and create a pathway that works for you.

And you don’t have to let fear make the decision for you.
If something is on your heart, it’s worth taking seriously.
