We’re proud to celebrate our own Monica Wharton who was recognized by Women We Admire as one of the 2026 Top Women Leaders of Memphis. Monica serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, and her leadership lifts our city and our community.

She returned to school after more than 25 years, balancing executive leadership, marriage, and raising three sons. She calls the journey humbling and rewarding. Her devotion to learning, family, and service is a beautiful example of leadership rooted in heart.

Join us in congratulating Monica for this well-deserved honor and for all she does to make Memphis stronger and healthier.

💚What a memorable photo! This year, we’re celebrating 74 years of sisterhood, service and legacy.

In November 1952, the Memphis (TN) Chapter became the first chapter of The Links, Incorporated chartered in Tennessee, led by these visionary members whose impact still guides us today.

Elegance, grace, and community. This beautiful portrait from the early 1950s captures a group of Black society women in Memphis during an era when organizations, social clubs, and formal gatherings played an important role in building leadership, philanthropy, and lasting friendships within the city’s Black community.

Photographed by Hooks Bros. of Memphis, these women represent a generation that celebrated achievement and created opportunities despite the challenges of segregation. Their style, confidence, and unity remain a powerful reminder of Memphis history that deserves to be remembered.

✨💚WOMEN WHO INSPIRE: Dr. Jessica Ruffin, President of the Memphis (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, was recently featured in Memphis Health+Fitness Magazine. Closing out Awareness Month, she said she appreciates the magazine for shining a light on such an important topic that impacts so many families.
