Happy National Imagine a Day Without Water!

Join us tonight for a discussion exploring how crucial our need for water really is by visualizing life without it, just for one day.

We will have light refreshments and a community conversation starting at 5:30 pm, followed by a panel discussion at 6 pm.

Sierrans, our October meeting is canceled BUT there is something to do.

Tomorrow, the Memphis City Council will vote on a moratorium on new data centers. Join us at City Hall and demand a pause on unchecked development.

It's time for Memphis and Shelby County to set clear, enforceable standards for water, air quality, noise, energy use, infrastructure, jobs, and community benefits. Promises are not enough; accountability must be built into the law.

Show the City Council that Memphis will no longer accept unchecked data center development.

There will also be a rally starting at Fourth Bluff Park (N. Front St, 38103) at 3PM, then marching to City Hall. See you there!

🌱 Join the Sierra Club Chickasaw Group for a conversation with Bobby Rich III and Derravia K. Rich, the husband-and-wife team behind Black Seeds Urban Farms and the nonprofit Black Seeds!

Through regenerative farming, agricultural education, and community-driven leadership, Bobby and Derravia are working to address food insecurity, restore underused land, and advance food sovereignty in Memphis. Their work creates thriving green spaces where residents can access fresh, nutritious food, learn to grow their own produce, gather with neighbors, and reconnect with the land.

Come hear their story and learn practical ways to participate in local food systems, support community-led solutions, and help build healthier, stronger, and more sustainable neighborhoods.

On June 18 at 6 pm CST/7 pm EST, the MS Pipelines Working Group will host a webinar to inform, activate and empower Mississippians and allies around the two proposed gas pipelines threatening our land, water, air, health, safety & pocketbooks– the Mississippi Crossing (MSX) and Kosciusko Junction Pipeline Projects.

Mississippi environmental justice advocates, organizers & experts from SELC, Property Rights & Pipelines Center, MS Sierra Club and American Lung Association will share information about these proposed gas pipelines, the threats they pose to Mississippians, who stands to profit & who would bear all the risk. We’ll take your questions & talk about ways to fight back!
