Operation Taking Back 901 We are dedicated to empowering through transformative economic and educational programs. On February 12, 2016, I started the group with only small plans.

Our mission is to break cycles of disadvantage by equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive. But God saw different and manifest those in need with many blessing. The team is made up with family & friends. And believe it or not, we are growing in numbers. As you may know, crime is high along with poverty in our community. So we are taking a stand & becoming foot soldiers.

Operation Taking Back 901 is excited to launch our FREE Life Skills & Readiness 6-Week Cohort for young adults ages 18–25! 💙

This program is designed to equip participants with the real-world tools needed to grow academically, socially, personally, and professionally. Through mentoring, interactive sessions, workforce readiness training, and character development, participants will gain skills that support long-term success.

This empowering experience is designed to help young women build confidence, strengthen life skills, and grow in a safe and uplifting environment through interactive activities, discussions, and mentorship.

We had the honor of hosting Marcus Ellis, Deputy Director of Cities United, during a program site visit alongside our team.

Marcus traveled with us to observe the work we are contracted to provide for adult participants identified as being at the highest risk of involvement in gun violence. During the visit, he witnessed firsthand our financial literacy and mentorship programming, participant engagement, and the supportive environment we strive to create through our work.

His words of encouragement meant a great deal to our organization and affirmed the importance of providing culturally relevant, interactive, and impactful programming that helps participants change the trajectory of their lives.

We appreciate Cities United for taking the time to learn more about the impact happening here in Memphis and for supporting efforts centered around safer, healthier, and more hopeful communities.
