🔥You can almost smell the burgers!

NHLA, ITS Instructor Roman Matyushchenko is proudly firing up the grill to treat students to a delicious lunch—on our new Pit Boss grill!

This amazing donation came from Dansons USA, Inc.- Pitt Boss, thanks to Jamie Barnett, a former and longtime NHLA instructor in West Virginia. Fun fact: Roman was once one of Jamie’s ITS graduates!

Now, as an instructor himself, Roman is using this generous gift to enhance the student experience—saving time, money, and adding a whole lot of flavor. 🍔

Huge thanks to Jamie and the team at Pit Boss and Danson’s USA, Inc! We’re beyond grateful and excited to put this grill to great use!

From Student to National Inspector-Drew Snider's Journey.

Meet Drew, a third-generation ITS graduate of the NHLA Inspector Training School Class #193 in 2020. Drew received a scholarship from ITSEF and was also honored with the ITSEF Highest Overall Average Award.

Thanks to the support of ITSEF, Drew pursued his passion for hardwood lumber grading and in 2024, accepted a position as a National Inspector with the NHLA, where he serves the Southeast region of the U.S.

On February 28th, 2025, Drew returned to the classroom as a guest speaker for graduating class # 208 sharing how the inspector training school helped launch his career and offering inspiration to future graduates.

A heartfelt thank you to all who have donated to ITSEF. Your generosity makes it possible for deserving students to chase their dreams and build successful careers in the hardwood lumber industry, just like Drew.
