At Crosstown High, students aren't just learning about the real world. They're working in it. Through their Work-Based Learning program, Memphis students are landing internships, apprenticeships, and paid jobs while still in school, building the communication skills, confidence, and real-world experience that no textbook can teach. And the best part is that employers say it's super easy to get involved.

Lily Woods, a Crosstown High senior, has been working at Church Health YMCA for over a year, doing work that actually matters to her. She's not waiting until after graduation to make an impact.

A chance encounter in a parking garage led Serve901 Director Jeff Riddle to discover that a former participant is now an MTR Resident, teaching in Memphis classrooms. 🧡 She first heard about Memphis Teacher Residency at a Serve901 info session during her college trip. Years later, she's still here. This is why we do what we do!

Memphis teachers deserved a celebration, and your support made it happen. 🎉 Teach901's Summer Kick-Off Party at Swamp Bar was the perfect send-off for Teacher Appreciation Month and the school year. On May 20, educators came together for a night built just for them- entertainment from the Memphis Grizzlies, free Teach901 goodie bags, giveaways, and yes, that first drink was on us. 🍹

Nights like this don't happen without people who believe Memphis teachers are worth investing in. Thank you to Leaders Credit Union and Meredith and Greg Martin for sponsoring this event and showing up for our educator community in a big way.
