The Hikers are pleased to continue the tradition of offering scholarships for students wishing to continue their education. To be eligible, students must be enrolled for the 2026 Fall Semester, full time, in a two or four-year college program, certificate program in higher education, a training program for trade, or a graduate program. Applicants must be a resident of Tuftonboro or have a parent or legal guardian who is a member of The Hikers. Both first-time applicants and past recipients are eligible for scholarships.

Applications are available at the Kingswood Regional High School Counseling Center or website, The Brewster Academy College Counseling Office, the Tuftonboro Town Offices, or the Tuftonboro Free Library. Applications should be sent to: The Hikers, P.O. Box 102, Melvin Village, NH 03850, and must be postmarked no later than April 10th. Incomplete or late applications cannot be considered.

The Hikers organization is dedicated to scholarship, community service, and hospitality. They have been awarding scholarships to local students since 1946 and in the last ten years alone have awarded more than $150,000 to deserving students.
