Action Long Island

Action Long Island Since 1981, Action Long Island (ALI) has been developing relationships between business and governmen Family is what first comes to mind.

Since 1981 Action long Island (ALI) and its very dedicated volunteer members have been working tirelessly, and against all odds, to maintain and improve the quality of life on long Island. The family of ALI companies and their many volunteer members has accomplished tasks that touch the lives of all Long Islanders – each and every day. These accomplishments to some at the very outset seemed imposs

ible, but through the dedicated efforts of these volunteers, we were able to get them done. Our partial list of accomplishments is long and impressive. The tasks were formidable and the reasons to undertake each one were the impact they would have on Long Island’s residents and businesses. And there is much more ALI has done, and continues to accomplish.’

In 2000, ALI also started our Kids in Action, a not-for-profit organization forcused on hosting programs for middle-school students. This is a program where children learn about setting lofty goals, reaching for the stars, treating each other more kindly, and educating them about anti-bullying. In 2010, ALI recognized that the best way to stop the “brain drain” on Long Island was to engage those brains. ALI started the Young Adult Alliance (YAA), an organization dedicated to and driven by the issues of the young adults. The YAA members told us that among other issues the most important were an affordable place to live, jobs, and student loan payments. We all have special causes, missions, and things that are very important to each of us. Whether it’s the jobs we have or the education that our children and grandchildren receive those issues are influenced by where we live and work. We all live together on an island, a mere patch of sand floating in the ocean. We would be better served if only we would treat each other with an island mentality, where we take better care of each other and the fragile island where we live. ALI, with the support of many very dedicated volunteers who serve on ALI Task Forces, is now addressing the issues of Wellness, Traffic, Transportation, Environment, Energy costs, Housing, and Development, as well as Economic Development. Everyone recognizes that there are many challenges on Long Island yet to be addressed. We now invite you to lend a hand and ask, What is important to you? And, are you searching for a way to help?
