Upccoming Monthly meeting: Wed. May 8th 7 pm at First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Program: Zentangle with Lynn Landes, CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher)

Lynn has been practicing Zentangle for 12 years and has been teaching for three years. She’ll present us with an introductory lesson. The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. As you use the Zentangle Method to create beautiful images, you likely will enjoy increased focus, creativity, self-confidence and an increased sense well-being. Studies have shown that creating using the Zentangle method has reduced anxiety and stress in all ages. We’ll get to experience for ourselves a bit of this “non-representational and unplanned” art done on small pieces of paper.

Upccoming Monthly meeting: Wed. March 13th 7 pm at First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Program: Loose Ends Project
https://www.looseendsproject.org/

Loose Ends aims to ease grief, create community, and inspire generosity by matching volunteer handwork finishers with projects people have been left unfinished due to death or disability. When a crafter dies mid-project, or is no longer able to do handwork, they will likely have unfinished items they were making for friends and family. These tangible, handmade expressions of love could get lost, donated away, or thrown out. We match unfinished projects to volunteer finishers who complete and return the garments,
blankets, & accessories, to their loved ones.

12/12/2022

Join us for our upcoming monthly meeting on Wed. Dec. 14th, 2022 at 7 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Melrose! Our speaker will be Bretta Norton and our topic is:

Soapmaking – it’s chemistry crafting at home! We will be talking about how easy it is to make your own cold-process bar soap, even for someone who hasn’t extensively studied any chemistry. The discussion will cover each of the following topics: required tools, general chemical compounds, process, ingredient considerations and recipe development, safety, and creative touches.

She will also bring samples for us to see as well as handouts and links for us to try our hand at the art of soapmaking.

Bretta has been a Melrose resident for 10 years and also loves gardening, in addition to her love for soapmaking.
