Summary: We strongly believe outdoor events and activities are the best medicine for our troops. With our existing and proposed facilities we can reach thousands of veterans, provide them respite and allow them to reconnect with the Great Outdoors. In this environment, veterans can establish new friendships and support networks within their own peer groups, and also find that they themselves can b

e an instrument of healing and comfort for others. In addition, Soldiers Freedom Outdoor website content, along with focused webinars and conference calling, can funnel participants to scheduled outdoor events yet provide them a continuous stream of mentorship, counseling and most importantly, understanding and a compassionate ear. We also endeavor to canvas our troops for basic needs (food, clothing) and meet that need with every tool at our disposal. Our greatest challenge is to make a positive, tangible difference in the lives of every veteran we meet regardless of technology, material offering or event scheduled. People are the most effective tool for this task and the Soldiers Freedom Outdoors team intends to meet that challenge. A veteran’s gender, ethnicity, disability, rank, length of service, active or retired, offers no barrier to the pursuit of our mission. We are thrilled to officially announce the expansion of Soldiers Freedom Outdoors with our brand-new facility: [Soldiers Freedom Outpost one in Lake City, Florida! This incredible new location features "The 1800 Acre Woods," a beautiful property dedicated exclusively to hosting premier hunting retreats for our nation's heroes. To maximize our impact and serve even more individuals, these new hunting experiences will run concurrently with our existing, beloved retreats at Camp Freedom in Melrose, Florida. As with everything we do, these retreats are 100% free of charge for all veterans and active-duty military members. The official hunting dates and games schedule for the upcoming 2026-2027 season will be released in exactly two weeks.
In addition to our new retreats, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Sportsman's Banquet in Lake City, Florida, at the Armory on November 7th! This special event will be a fantastic opportunity for fellowship and support, and more detailed information will be available in the coming days. Keep a close eye on our page so you can stay updated on the banquet details and be the first to secure your spot for our upcoming outdoor adventures!

💜 SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH

But su***de prevention cannot be something we only talk about in September.

Pay attention. Every month. Every week. Every day.

Sometimes the person struggling isn’t the one asking for help.

It may be the Veteran who stopped showing up.
The friend who suddenly got quiet.
The person making everyone else laugh.
The spouse trying to hold everything together.
The one who says, “I’m fine,” because explaining what’s really going on feels too hard.

Not every wound can be seen, and not every person in crisis will tell you they are struggling.

Check on your people. Then check on them again.

Invite them to dinner. Take them fishing. Sit beside them in silence. Get them out of the house. Listen without judgment. Remind them that their presence in this world matters.

At Soldiers Freedom Outdoors, we believe in the power of connection, community, and the outdoors. Sometimes giving someone a place to belong can mean more than we will ever know.

Thank you MS Freedom Jeepers for choosing us to participate in the charity event at Trustmark Park last night with the MS Mud Monsters baseball game.
They raised and donated a generous $1,000 for Soldiers Freedom Outdoors Mississippi. We are so grateful!
