Melrose Chili For Charity Chili Cook Off Event to raise money for three charities.

We will have competitors vying for the honor of "Chili Champion" as you sample their closely guarded recipes while listening to live music​ and playing games. ​For adults and kids alike.

We are humbled that so many of you turned up and participated in this fun but very important event. Weren't our contestants zestily fabulous?! We DOUBLED our tally from last year to $6,476, which will be distributed to A Servants Heart Food Pantry, Haley House, and KIND. From the bottom of our bean filled hearts, we thank each and every one of you. You have helped more than you know. Gratefully, Melrose Chili For Chariy.

How it all began

A few years ago, the Lockners, a Melrose family, decided to host a friendly chili cook off among neighbors and friends. It was a great way to get together over good food, great company and some spicy competition. Year Two had more people, more laughter, even fiercer competition, and officially made the Chili Cook Off an established tradition. In 2018, the hosts outgrew their garage and decided to bring the event to the public and earn a little money for charity. Thus began "Chili for Charity."

We are excited to announce our second annual Chili for Charity event at Melrose Memorial Hall Saturday, October 19 where we will have competitors vying for the honor of "Chili Champion" as you sample their closely guarded recipes while listening to live music​ and playing games. ​The event will provide fun and entertainment for families and adults alike.

What is even more exciting is this year's Cook Off will raise money for three different causes. They are A Servant’s Heart Food Pantry, KIND, and Haley House. We will profile each of these charities throughout the next couple of months

Our goal is to raise $10,000 - bean by bean.
