As August comes to a close, The Florida Chapter would like to recognize and honor our fellow OCS graduates. Those who have been recognized and those who gave their lives, all was in service to our Nation. Korea, Vietnam to Afghanistan, each name represents a Soldier, a leader, a family member, and a legacy that must not be forgotten.

Throughout this month, we have honored them one day at a time. Today, we remember them together. “All gave some. Some gave all.”

Today is a significant day in OCS History that we must never forget.

Seventy-three years ago today, 2LT Earl F. Chambers, Infantry OCS Class 8-52, was killed in action in Korea. 2LT Chambers was the last OCS graduate killed in Korea prior to the ceasefire on 27 July 1953.

July marks one year of Honoring the Remembrance and Service of fellow OCS Graduates.

One year ago, we started posting the stories of fallen OCS graduates to preserve and share their history. Over the past year, we achieved key milestones: launching our OCS database and extending our outreach beyond OCS members to include families, friends, and fellow Soldiers who have entrusted us with stories of the fallen we honor.

It has been a rewarding year showcasing the work of the OCS Florida Chapter to audiences outside our chapter. We look ahead with resolve and respect, seeking to connect with prospective OCS candidates, OCS graduates, and the loved ones of those who served honorably and gave all in service.

Thank you for standing with us in remembrance and commitment.
