On this , DAV encourages you to take a moment to reflect on the brave individuals who’ve been wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service. Without their bravery and resiliency, we wouldn’t have many of the freedoms that we practice today. Do you know any Purple Heart recipients? We encourage you to pay tribute to them in the comments below.

100% Disabled Veterans Now Have More License Plate Choices!

Florida's tax collectors worked closely with legislators and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to modernize the law for Florida's totally and permanently disabled veterans. For many years, qualifying veterans were limited to the standard red, white, and blue Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate. Thanks to this legislative change, those veterans may now choose from Florida's more than 100 specialty license plates while still having the plate embossed with the distinctive "DV" designation. This change allows veterans to express their military service, support a favorite cause, university, or organization, or simply select a plate they enjoy, without giving up the recognition and benefits associated with their Disabled Veteran status. Recipients receive all standard Disabled Veteran plate credits; specialty plate fees may apply.

A great day for Chapter 32!

Thanks to DAV Chapter 32, we are thrilled to receive the donation of a golf cart, which will provide much-needed transportation assistance. On top of that, their generous monetary donation of $10,000 will be earmarked by CDCE to directly benefit the specific needs of Veterans at each facility.

A huge thank you to John Dunn, Commander, Disabled American Veterans, Dept of Florida; Brian Mitchell, Commander, DAV Chapter 32; Jennifer Cook, Sr. Vice Commander, DAV Chapter 32; Jim Gallagher, Treasurer; and Stan Kline, Adjutant, for their leadership and generosity!
