Meet Bindi:)
Stumpy tail cattle dog, she went to a puppy rescue in IN with her 10 puppies awhile ago.
She did not do very well there and we all fell in love with her so she was transported back to us.
She’s Heeler through and through, so we ask that only people experienced with the breed even consider apply to foster or foster to adopt her.
The GOOD—she loves people, never met a stranger and bonds quickly with everyone she meets, no stranger danger with this girl.
She walks fairly well on a leash.
She knows sit and come and recalls 100% of the time, even with some distractions.
She has zero food or toy aggression.
She is very goofy and loving.
She is kennel trained, and did so quickly.
The NOT SO GOOD—she is NOT good with any animal smaller than her, period. She will climb a tree in a split second after a bird.
She will chase a cat and once fixated it’s difficult to redirect her, she’s hell bent in getting at the cat, bird, squirrel etc. We don’t know what she would do if she catches what she’s after but she did sn**ch up a statue cat by the back of the neck and shake it before putting it back down.
I would not trust her with small children especially if they are toddling and or running.
She’s also, right now, not able to cohabitate with other dogs, she’s getting better at this also but we are keeping everyone separated with double barriers, she is resource guarding of her people towards other dogs.
We are working on these issues and she’s showing great progress, we are also setting up a behavioral specialist and trainer evaluation, the same one that helped us with alumni Bernies issues.
If you are interested please fill out and application and put Bindi on it.
She gets spayed tomorrow so as soon as recovery is over we will begin training.
