🎉 Please join us in wishing Delbressa "Del" Jordan a happy 12th work anniversary!

Del began her journey with Take Stock in Children of Brevard as a Mentor Coordinator and now serves as a College Readiness Coach, helping students prepare for college and the opportunities ahead.

As Del shares:
"As a first-generation college graduate, it has been my joy to serve as a College Readiness Coach helping hundreds of Take Stock in Children scholars to do the same: graduate college and achieve success!"

Through 12 years of service, Del has brought both professional experience and a personal understanding of the importance of higher education to her work.

Thank you, Del, for your dedication to our students and their futures! 💙💚

Brevard Schools Foundation joins our community in remembering Fred Galey, a founding member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and a dedicated public servant.

Throughout his life, Fred demonstrated a commitment to service, from his distinguished military career to his leadership as Brevard County Supervisor of Elections. We are especially grateful for his role in helping establish the Foundation and its mission of supporting students and educators across Brevard Public Schools.

His contributions helped lay the groundwork for the Foundation’s continued impact on public education. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him.

What does it take to maintain school facilities across Brevard County?

From roofing and HVAC systems to electrical equipment and other critical infrastructure, maintaining school buildings involves work that often happens behind the scenes.

According to Brevard Public Schools (official), Sales Surtax funding supports these types of facility maintenance projects. During the first half of 2026, BPS reports completing 80% of 662 preventive-maintenance work orders.

The Sales Surtax renewal is one of two BPS funding questions on the November 3 ballot. Learn more about how the funding is used through the BPS information page linked in the comments.

Healthy minds are an important part of a successful school year. As children navigate schoolwork, friendships, and daily routines, checking in on their emotional well-being matters.

Through our partnership with Florida KidCare, Brevard Schools Foundation helps families learn about health and dental coverage, including covered mental and behavioral health services.

💙🎒 Community support that goes beyond back-to-school season!

A big thank-you to CCU Florida for extending its school supply drive through September and to everyone who donated at participating branches!
The CCU Florida team recently delivered 11 boxes of school supplies to the Supply Zone for Teachers, helping replenish essential resources for Brevard Public Schools (official) classrooms.
We're grateful for CCU Florida's continued partnership and commitment to supporting local students and educators throughout the year. 📚✏️

Brevard Schools Foundation joins our community in remembering Susie Wasdin, whose generosity, warmth, and commitment to helping others touched countless lives throughout Brevard County.

Susie and her husband, Tom, were founding members of the Foundation’s Champions for Children Society, originally known as the 1987 Society. Their belief in supporting new initiatives helped establish a lasting tradition of investing in educational opportunities for students and teachers.

We are grateful for Susie’s friendship, her generous spirit, and the example she set through a lifetime of giving back. Our heartfelt condolences are with Tom, their family, and all who knew and loved her.

🎉 Please join us in wishing Linda Filippini a happy 16th work anniversary!

If it has needed to be done at Brevard Schools Foundation over the past 16 years, chances are Linda has helped make it happen. Her many years working across the Foundation have given her a wealth of knowledge about our programs, our history, and the community partners who help make our work possible.

Today, Linda continues that service remotely as our Bright Ideas Classroom Grants and Senior Scholarship Specialist, putting years of experience and relationships with sponsors and donors to work for teachers and graduating seniors.

We are grateful for Linda's 16 years of dedication, versatility, and commitment to the Foundation. Happy work anniversary, Linda! 💙💚
