Sally has been an extraordinarily generous person and wonderful role model. The post may be labelled AI content -- probably for the image -- because we know every word to be true for us as well.

We mourn the passing July 22 of a remarkable friend of WK Preservation Group – Sally McConnell, at age 91 in St. Petersburg.

Sally, a career educator in Pinellas County, created lasting change with quiet generosity.

Through shrewd investing, she was able to support many local programs, yet she lived a humble life, only wanting to help people, the arts and the environment. Sally’s generosity benefited a long list of organizations and programs that her philanthropy supported regularly.

Through significant matching gifts, she played a pivotal role in our first project, saving the West Klosterman Preserve in 2025. Her support inspired others to give, multiplying her impact and helping protect this special place for generations to come.

We at WK Preservation Group are deeply grateful for Sally’s belief in our mission and her enduring investment in Florida’s natural heritage. Our heartfelt condolences go to her family and friends.
