The Space Coast Writers Guild launches writers to new heights! The Space Coast Writers Guild, Inc.

We support writers of all genres through community, workshops, monthly speakers, publishing opportunities, and more. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging, educating, and supporting writers of all genres—launching writers to new heights at every stage of the writing life. We meet monthly and offer engaging programs, guest speakers, workshops, and special events designed to support writers in their creative and professional journeys. Our meetings typically include brief Guild updates followed by a featured presentation on some aspect of writing, publishing, or the writing life. Members benefit from a vibrant community of writers who understand the realities of the craft: deadlines, revisions, rejections, contracts, publishing decisions, and the challenge of bringing ideas to the page. Whether you’re an established, multi-published author or just beginning your writing journey, the Space Coast Writers Guild offers connection, resources, and encouragement to help you grow. Jaimie Engle will speak on Creating Characters Through World Building.

Jaimie is an author known for her engaging and imaginative storytelling, often blending elements of fantasy, adventure, and the supernatural. Her works typically target young audiences, including middle grade and young adult readers. Engle’s writing style is characterized by its vivid world-building, relatable characters, and themes of courage, friendship, and self-discovery.

In addition to her fiction work, Engle is also a screenwriter and creative consultant, helping to adapt novels into screenplays and develop original film and television projects.

Rejection doesn’t always mean the end of the road for a manuscript—it may simply mean it’s time to look at the work from a new perspective. Traditionally published author Karen Whiting, with more than 34 books to her credit, shares insights into transforming and repositioning manuscripts to overcome rejection, reach new audiences, and open doors to additional publishing opportunities.

Drawing from her extensive experience in traditional publishing, Karen will help writers consider how thoughtful changes to a manuscript can give an existing idea new life—and potentially a much larger market.

Karen will take the stage after a few opening remarks. We'll then take a break and allow time for you to review the baskets, purchase your tickets, and place your bids.

Several years ago, the Guild offered a single high school student a $1,000 scholarship. It was a one-off event. The reason for that is simple: it takes a lot of work to put a program such as this together. Through the efforts of our Secretary, Gwynne Eldrige, we have the pieces in place to allow us to make this a well-funded, annual event. And we hope to grow from here!

Join the Space Coast Writers Guild this June for a special gathering of conversation, community, and philanthropy as we bring back our popular biannual Member Q&A Session—now held each June and December.

In addition to open discussion and fellowship among writers, the meeting will feature a silent auction to support our fundraising efforts for the SCWG Scholarship Fund, which benefits high school seniors.

Together, we are not simply funding a scholarship—we are helping launch a dream and shaping the future of the written word.
