Things are looking a little different around the Melba Valley Senior Center this week, and we couldn't be more excited to share a little peek behind the scenes!
Yesterday, the hard work officially began! Old equipment is coming out, deep cleaning is underway, painting has started, and we're making room for some much-needed kitchen upgrades. And starting tomorrow, new equipment will begin making its way in! 🥰
But here's the part that makes this so special...
YOU helped make this happen. ❤️
Every fundraiser you've attended, every meal you've purchased, every donation you've made, every event you've supported, and every hour you've volunteered has helped us get to this point.
And we don't take a single bit of that for granted.
Our Senior Center has been around for a long time, and like any older building, there's always something that needs fixing, replacing, or improving. For a small nonprofit like ours, projects like this don't happen overnight. They take time, patience, a whole lot of fundraising, and a community willing to show up.
And boy, does Melba know how to show up. ❤️
We're so incredibly grateful to finally be able to make these improvements to a kitchen that serves so many meals and brings so many people together.
Of course, the work doesn't stop here. We'll continue hosting fundraisers, community events, and all those little gatherings that help keep our doors open. Because beyond the big projects, there are still everyday expenses, meals to prepare, and a Senior Center to keep running for the people who count on it.
But today? We're celebrating this step forward.
Because it's a pretty big one for our little center.
We're sharing a few pictures of where we started and what we've been working on so far. It's not pretty just yet, but that's part of the fun! 😉
