It is with heavy heart and deep regret that Murphy, Reynolds, Wilson Fire District informs you of the death of our Firefighter Ed Dickman and his beloved companion Sherry Jones due to a plane crash near Empire, Nevada on May 17. Ed, a retired airline pilot and avid pilot, was in Nevada with Sherry to attend a family event. They were making their way home to Idaho when the accident occurred. Ed was a past Fire Commissioner, a past Fire Chief and had been a firefighter/EMT. He was currently a firefighter living in the Givens Hot Springs area at Sky Park Loop. Sherry was known for arranging our annual Christmas party held at the Sky Park. A memorial is being planned. For now, cards and condolences can be mailed to MRW Fire, 11606 Hwy 78, Melba ID 83641. MRW will be sure the families receive them. They both will be missed.

Friday Recap: Fire side has been uneventful for the week. EMS was busy with the motorcycle race last weekend. Several rider injuries but nothing too serious! Last weekend was the Chili Cook Off that went pretty well. There was a good turn out for the tasting and voting for People's Choice. Two people I forgot to mention earlier, Andy & Liz Newby! Andy is one of our firefighters and Liz is the District Treasurer. They made the Cook Off possible by manning the check in table, collecting money for the tastings and entry fees, as well as selling raffle tickets for the rifle raffle. Thank you both and I apologize for not mentioning you both earlier. That's the recap until next Friday. Stay safe and remember, please call Sheriff's dispatch if you are going to burn!
