Did you notice activity at the Meeme Liberty Pole? The footing is going in today. The secondary flag pole will be installed in 8-10 days as the cement needs to harden.

The 62 foot tall Liberty Pole will remain in place, and will continue to fly flags on special days to include the 4th of July!

The 'new' flagpole is 60 feet tall and 'hurricane' strength. We'll fly a 12x18 flag 365 days 24 hours a day, as long as the weather allows.

The Celebration of Freedom honoring America's 250th birthday is at 10 am on the 4th of July beginning at the Meeme Liberty Pole. Please join our celebration!

Our Celebration of Freedom & Meeme Liberty Pole capital campaign is underway!

We’re excited to kick things off with a generous donation from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 477 in support of the new secondary 60-foot flagpole!

Celebration of Freedom – July 4th, 2026

Join us as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday—a historic milestone honoring our nation’s freedom, sacrifice, and enduring spirit.

Beginning with a 10 a.m. ceremony at the Meeme Liberty Pole ICorner of XX & M in the Town of Meeme)

Following the ceremony, continue the celebration with friends and community with a Social Gathering at Shadows in School Hill.

Come out to honor our past, celebrate our present, and look ahead to the future of this great nation. Bring your family, your pride, and your patriotic spirit!

In conjunction with the 250th Birthday of America, American Legion Post 477 - St Nazianz, WI is holding a Celebration of Freedom cash raffle.

$7500 in prizes. $20 a ticket. 1000 max tickets sold.

Tickets are available at Braun Inc & 's Opera Haus in St Nazianz and in School Hill or reach out to Post and SAL 477 members.

Exiting News!!

American Legion Post 477 - St Nazianz, WI will host a Celebration of Freedom celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America on 4 July 2026!

Events will begin at the Meeme Liberty Pole with a social to follow at Shadows Bar (School Hill). Expect a light lunch and drinks. Liberty Pole historical articles/artifacts will be avilable to view.

They will also be a Veterans meet & greet.

And, the drawing for the Celebration of Freedom raffle is at noon.

A full day of activities, fun, and celebration! We hope that you'll mark your calendars and plan on joining us.
