A Walk with Spirits of the Past Tickets can be purchased in advance for the Walk or purchased the evening of the walk. Dine with the Spirits tickets is by reservation only.

Celebrating 30 Years of Spirits of the Past — and Honoring Donna Bica

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Spirits of the Past: A Walk Into History in Medina, and it is also a very special year for one of the people who has been at the heart of this event since the beginning.

After this year’s event, Donna Bica will be hanging up her Director’s hat and stepping away from directing Spirits of the Past to spend more time with her two grandsons and her family.

Donna was one of the founders of Spirits of the Past and has directed the stories year after year.

Donna seemed to know everything about Spirits — organizing auditions, coordinating stories, costumes and props, knowing which actors had played which roles, who to contact for permissions, and remembering the countless details that make this event come together.

She also carried with her the history of the event itself. Donna would fondly share stories about actors who had portrayed characters over the years, including those who have since passed away. She has been an incredible wealth of knowledge and a tremendous part of what has kept Spirits of the Past going for three decades.

Her dedication, leadership, knowledge, and love for this event have made an immeasurable impact on Spirits of the Past and on everyone who has had the opportunity to be part of it.

We would love to have you join us TODAY at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church as we honor Donna during our final performance of the 30th Anniversary year.

Come experience the stories, celebrate this incredible milestone, and help us give Donna the thank-you she deserves for 30 years of bringing Medina’s history to life.

📢 EVENT UPDATE: Spirits of the Past 2026

Please note that Spirts of the Past 2026 - A Walk into History will NOT be hosting “Dine with the Spirits of the Past” at Miss Molly’s Tea Room this year.

An article recently published by Medina Weekly about the 2026 event incorrectly stated that Dine with the Spirits would be offered at Miss Molly’s. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

However, this year we are pleased to offer a special ADA-accessible, sit-down performance of Spirits of the Past:

🕒 3:00 PM
📍 St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
317 E. Liberty St., Medina

This special performance is designed for members of our community who may not be able to comfortably participate in the traditional 60-minute guided walking tour. It provides an accessible and cost-effective opportunity to experience the stories, historical characters, and dramatic performances that have made Spirits of the Past a beloved Medina tradition for 30 years.

🎟️ Pre-sale Tickets may be purchased at the John Smart House (206 N. Elmwood Ave.) on the following dates:

* Wednesday, Sept. 9th (10a-1p)
* Thursday, Sept. 10th (10a-1p)

Day-of-event tickets for the walking tours will be available beginning at 6:00 PM at the Medina County Administration Building
AND from 2-3pm on Sunday, September 13th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for ADA accessible performance.
