June is Pride Month — a time to celebrate identity, resilience, and community. LGBTQ+ young people bring strength, creativity, and courage to our communities every day.

They also deserve the same safety, stability, and support as every other child. Our community can be a source of protection and belonging for LGBTQ+ youth. When young people are surrounded by safe, supportive adults and stable relationships, they thrive.

Last month, the Medina County Coalition Against Human Trafficking held our annual Together Against Trafficking training for community members interested in dispelling myths and learning about the realities of Human Trafficking in Medina County.

Beth Ewing, Bailey Ewing, and Dave Birchbickler shared their expertise, insight, and real-world perspectives to help participants better recognize, respond to, and prevent human trafficking.

Thank you to RAHAB Ministries, Hope Recovery Community, and Hope Meadows for hosting resource tables and educating attendees on services available in our community. We are especially grateful to First Baptist Church of Medina for hosting this event.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in learning, asking questions, and strengthening our collective response to human trafficking.

The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act has been officially signed into law!

After 9 years of advocacy, survivors of human trafficking will finally have a pathway to clear federal criminal records tied directly to their exploitation.

This is a historic step forward in protecting victims and survivors at the federal level.
