Thank a first responder! Bluecoats of Medina County is proud to announce the launch of Thank a First Responder, a community-driven program designed to give residents the opportunity to share personal messages of gratitude directly with police officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, corrections officers, and other first responders who serve our community every day.
“First responders carry a unique and often invisible burden,” said Kathy Breitenbucher, Executive Director. “They show up for people on the worst day of their lives, go home, and then go back and do it all over again. What they rarely get is closure – the change to know that their work truly matters, and that the person they helped is now doing okay. They need to see the community is grateful. This program is our way of bridging that gap. A heartfelt thank you for someone whose life was touched by their work can be profoundly healing. We believe these words matter.”
Community members are invited to visit Send Thanks | Bluecoats of Medina County and submit their thank you. Names and emails are not required. Submissions will be shared with the individual (if named) and the Chief or leader of that team.
About Bluecoats of Medina County: Bluecoats supports first responders and their families. They provide financial support for programs around mental health of first responders, provide a yearly grant program to supplement equipment, training, and programs departments don’t have in their budgets.
