Our Peace of Heaven

Our Peace of Heaven Our lives changed on December 11, 2014 when our beautiful 10 yr old son, Colton, passed away. This is our journey to Glorify God and remember Colton.

To provide a safe haven for grieving families, pastors and people of all ages seeking to strengthen their relationship with God. We want to offer the community a place to experience His creation and bring Glory to God through animal encounters and the beauty of nature.

8th Day of Giving:

Today we donated $3,000 to the final expenses for Jamir, the 17 yr old young man that tried to stop a fight and was murdered during his heroic effort.

Others stood by, meanwhile, his selfless act of courage cost him his life.

7th Day of Giving:

Today we wanted to let a local family know we are thinking and praying for them this holiday season.

Collin is a high schooler at Cloverleaf. He has been diagnosed with a form of lymphoma. He starts his 2nd round of chemo tomorrow.

Collin's brother, Kyle, was one of Colton's best friends. Kyle attended Colton's 10th birthday party, just a few weeks before we lost him.

Christine Bohley, Collin's mom, also was instrumental in facilitating a $10,000 donation from a local church that blessed our foundation.

Our family knows first hand the effects of chemo since Bryan is a cancer survivor. We wanted to drop of some gift cards for Collin to buy whatever he needs/wants and wanted drop off some dinner from the Honey Baked Ham company so they have a night where they don't have to cook.

Please pray for Collin and the entire Bohley Family this holiday season ❤️

We don't do our giving for thank yous, and matter of fact it is rare that we get them because many people we give to are in the midst of grief or illness and we understand that.

What a nice surprise we received yesterday in a handwritten Christmas card thanking us from two years ago. This means so much, knowing that even two years later you remembered our foundation and how we tried to make a difference ❤️

6th Day of Giving:

We love helping other local organizations, so adopted family #95. Jayna and Kammy went shopping for this family with 6 children and bought bedding for each child, hygeine items as they requested, gift cards and things off all of their lists.

We will be dropping these off today.

5th Day of Giving:

We picked one of Colton's favorite people today. He doesn't have family near, he's not married and has no children although I feel like he loved Colton like one of his own.

We wanted to buy him the necessities that so many of us don't buy for ourselves. We felt Colton would definitely want us to look after someone that was dearest to his heart.

4th Day of Giving:

Cups Collective (aka Cups Cafe)
CupsCollective.org

We have always heard great things about Cups. They are located right off the square in Medina and offer free meals.

Using their Amazon wish list as a guide, we bought food, plates, storage containers and a Shark vacuum they desperately needed.

When we walked in, it was standing room only as it was filled with children arriving after school for a warm meal. We were welcomed with open arms and gratitude.

We love supporting other organizations that are doing great things in our community and know Colton would be proud ❤️

3rd Day of Giving:

Today I wanted to give to a co-worker of mine at the nursing home where I work on the weekends. Sandra lost her daughter, Tasha, two years ago due to pneumonia. She was 31 and special needs.
The first thing Sandra said to me is "no one ever says her name". So today, for Tasha, say her name. Say a prayer for her family. Like so many other grieving families, no one calls. No one checks in on us.

Don't assume we are ok. We buried our fu***ng kids. Call us/text us. It only takes a second. You don't have to understand the pain to be there for your friends/family.

My best friend, she always checks in on me. I love you Patty Hartley ❤️ Friends and strangers send me messages that mean so much that they took the time to read about Colton or watch his video and tell me how they always think of him.

So today, if you know someone that lost a child no matter how long ago...reach out to them and say their child's name ❤️

2nd Day of Giving:

Jayna (Colton's sister), is President of National Honor Society at Cloverleaf High School. They are doing a campaign for coats for the winter season, so we sent her to school with her arms full ❤️

One of our first places to give was Medina SPCA. Colton loved his dogs and we always try to make a difference in the lives of animals as we believe Colton would absolutely support the cause.

To our surprise, when we walked in, one of Colton's best friends was behind the counter. What a beautiful confirmation that this donation was the right place to start. Emily, Colton loved you so much and I'm sure he had a little hand in bringing us together even if for only a moment today ❤️

December 11th 2014.
Eleven years since I've held you.

Today we begin our 15 Days of Giving in honor of your heart of gold.

We shopped and we made a few stops along the way turning our day of grief into something positive. Over the next two weeks we will be sharing some of the ways we tried to spread a little joy and love in memory of Colton.

Today I am proud that The Colton Wise Memorial Foundation was able to step in an assist in the purchase of these campers to help out two families in desperate need.

Although in the past we have focused on grieving families that have lost a child, when an opportunity to bless a family in need arises I always ask myself "what would Colton do?".

Colton had such a giving pure heart and loved God more than anyone or anything. Knowing those two things, I'm positive he would want to help these families whose lives have been devastated for months.

There are so many more families that need help, but today, because of Colton's giving heart, two of these families will have a little more hope and know that there are people that care ♥️
