Kiwanians everywhere, along with all Americans, are deeply sadden by the news of the death of Kayla Jean Mueller. Her father, Carl Mueller, is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Prescot and Kayla spoke to the club just three months before her capture by ISIS forces while rendering altruistic service in Syria. http://www.newyorker.com/news/amy-davidson/kayla-muellers-calling

5 members of the Pikes Peak Kiwanis made it all the way to the summit of Mt. Sherman (14,036'). This hike supported Griffith Centers for Children Chins Up- Peak Challenge 2014! At the summit a brief, but official Kiwanis meeting was held. A world record? Perhaps. Pikes Peak Kiwanis claims the "World's Highest Kiwanis Meeting where members climbed to the peak". — with Lee Patke, Patsy Thompson, Bob Hughes, Brent J Phillips and Alan Agee at Mount Sherman.
