I have adjusted the camera to get a full view of the Downy Woodpecker. Here he is tucking his head into his feathers to keep warm on this cold winter night.

Did you know that during the winter months Downy Woodpeckers will use Bluebird Boxes to roost at night. Here’s a Downy woodpecker using the nest cam box last night.

Good Morning! 😃🐦 Here is the nesting report for the 2021 Breeding season.

Total Count For Bluebirds-
In John E. Butts Park In Box 9 “In Memory Of Alan John Goda” This was a successful fledge of 4 bluebirds on 07/02/2021 and were banded on 06/24/2021.
State Street Park In Box 9 “In Memory Of Harvey Lyndaker” This was a successful fledge of 2 bluebirds on 07/11/2021 we were only able to band the Adult Female Bluebird on 06/24/21.
Lions Park In Box 1 “In Memory Of Paul T. Pollard” This was a successful fledge of 4 Bluebirds on 07/16/2021.
In Pine Street Park In Box 4 “In Memory Of Andrea Lonnen” This was a successful fledge of 3 Bluebirds on 07/31/2021.
In Boxwood Cemetery In Box 8 “Donated By Paula Burkard” This was a successful fledge of 4 Bluebirds on 07/24/2021.
Also in Boxwood Cemetery in Box 9 “In Memory Of Patrica Blanc & Ceil Spada” We had two separate broods fledge. The first brood we fledged 2 Bluebirds on 06/16/2021 and the second brood we fledged 5 Bluebirds on 07/10/2021.
And lastly in the Bluebird Cam Box we successfully fledged Five Bluebirds On 07/10/2021.
Total Count For Tree Swallows-
At John E. Butts Park In Box 10 “In Memory Of Lt Col Henry G. Pollard” was a successful fledge of 2 baby Tree Swallows on 07/01/2021.
At State Street Park In Box 6 “In Memory Of Joy M. Pollard” was a successful fledge of 5 Tree Swallows on 06/29/2021.
At Lions Park In Box 4 “In Memory Of Lt Col Henry G. Pollard” was a successful fledge of 5 Tree Swallows on 06/30/2021.
Also at Lions Park In Box 6 “In Memory Of Paul T. Pollard” was a successful fledge of 3 Tree Swallows on 06/30/2021.
All Tree Swallows where banded on 06/24/2021.
Lastly the total count for the House Wrens-

Box 1 “In Memory Of Paul T. Pollard” was a successful fledge of 3 House Wrens on 08/18/21.

Good Morning 😃 It’s been a while since my last post. All the boxes are empty and I’m just finishing up the data report for the 2021 Breeding Season. Also We have a Facebook group that is made for Sharing your photos of Bluebirds in medina or of any around the trail system even if they are your own boxes and feel free to ask questions as well. We are officially down to our last two boxes with House Wrens and pretty soon they will be leaving their nest and we also have a resident Spotted Orbweaver!
