Arts Collaborative Medford

Arts Collaborative Medford Medford's gathering place for creative community Arts Collaborative Medford (ACM) is exploring the creation of a community arts center in Medford.

An arts center would serve as a hub for the arts in Medford, housing workshops and classes, artist studios, a rotating art gallery, and offices for community arts organizations. The ACM planning committee is comprised of representatives of community arts organizations including CACHE in Medford, Inc., ArtsMedford (formerly MACI), and the Medford Arts Council, as well as other key stakeholders in the arts community.

Free | Open to the public
Friday, April 17, 6:00–8:00 PM

Join us for the opening reception of Defunded/Defunked!—an energetic and thought-provoking exhibition curated by and featuring artists from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University.

This exhibition explores what it means to create, resist, and find joy within systems shaped by scarcity, excess, and shifting cultural values. Through humor, irreverence, and experimentation across media, the artists respond to the constraints of funding, the legacy of funk art, and the complexities of making work in a politically and technologically charged moment.

The evening offers a chance to meet the artists, engage in lively conversation, and experience the work in a welcoming, community-driven space. Light refreshments will be provided. Come be part of a night that invites reflection, rebellion, and a little bit of defunking.
