For Terry, his 2004 Nissan Frontier was a dependable companion for nearly two decades. It hauled trailers, stood the test of time, and was carefully maintained through the years until it was finally time to let it go.

Sometimes, a vehicle is more than just a way to get from point A to point B—it’s part of the family.

For over 20 years, Deborah’s Ford Focus—affectionately named “Cap’n Jack”—was woven into her family’s story. It was her daughter’s first car and a constant through different seasons of life.

When it was time to say goodbye, Deborah chose to donate it to Humane World for Animals.

That one decision helped turn a cherished memory into funding that supports animal care, shelter, and second chances for pets in need.

It’s a powerful reminder that even the things we’ve loved for years can continue making a difference in new ways.

That's why we're excited to highlight an upcoming session featuring Berck, M.B.A., Chief Development Officer at CARS, Coveleski, Senior Vice President of Development at Stand Up To Cancer, and Tracy Kaplan, Vice President of Membership at KQED.

On July 28, they'll lead Building Sustainable Revenue Through Asset Donations, exploring how organizations can diversify revenue through vehicles, real estate, cryptocurrency, donor-advised funds, and other giving vehicles while building long-term financial resilience.

PMGC is almost here, and we can’t wait to reconnect with our public media partners again!

We’ll be celebrating this year’s Rusty Award winners (trust us… there are some fun ones 👀🏆), swapping fundraising ideas, and talking about new ways stations can accelerate their funding through vehicle donations, real estate, stock giving, and more.

One of our favorite parts of PMGC is getting to hear the creative things stations are doing to engage donors and build momentum around their fundraising programs — and we’re excited for all the conversations ahead.
