May offers an end-to-end assortment of diverse arts and cultural activities in Medford. Here are some of the highlights from our Arts Across Medford Calendar:
+ Young Creatives: Medford Public Schools Art Month featuring a host of music, art and drama events across the city; the Mystic Project Artrepreneurs’ youth art sale at the Medford Public Library (May 4); and the Tufts Youth Philharmonic Spring Concert (May 12).
+ Local Artisans: An exhibition by Rita Ortolino-Dioguardi at the library (all month); Arts Collaborative Medford’s first Open Studio Hours event (May 2); ACM’s benefit auction of the late Louise Musto-Choate’s work (through May 5); and the firs Makers on the Mystic Pop-up Market at the Condon Shell (May 26)
+ Local Music: Medford Brewing Company’s Melodies On Top open mic night (May 2); First Baptist Church of Medford’s Choral Fellows, Scholars and Chanel Choir’s Spring Concert (May 5); Down By Riverside, Inc.’s third Spirit of Music Potluck Concert (May 12); and the Medford Community Chorale’s Spring Concert (May 17)
+ Local History: The Medford Historical Society & Museum's “Meet Kaiser” the carrier pigeon family program (May 5); and “Medford: Tell Your Story,” a True Story Theater workshop at the Library where you can submit personal stories about living and working in Medford (May 14)
+ Multicultural: The Library’s bilingual story time with “The Real Cinco de Mayo Story” in Spanish and English (May 8), and four Haitian Heritage Month events across the city (May 9-18)
+ Other: “Ghosts: Do You Believe?” hosted by Dustin Pari at Deep Cuts (May 1), Bridgerton High Tea at the library (May 18), and the Medford Pride Flag Raising and Festival (May 31).
