West Medford Community Center

West Medford Community Center For 90 years, WMCC has served as the civic & social heartbeat of the vibrant and historic neighborhood of West Medford. We also have a full commercial kitchen.

Originally constructed in the 1950's as a reclaimed army barracks, the WMCC is now totally reconstructed as a modern, residential style building. It houses a main function room, a small dance studio, a computer learning room, and a "teen room". These facilities are available for rental by private groups by special arrangement.

✨ Some gatherings stay with you—not just in your memory, but in your spirit. ✨
What we shared together did not happen by accident. It happened because people showed up—with care, commitment, and love for community. This year’s message, “If We Don’t Quit,” reminded us that progress is possible when we stay connected and keep going.
With deep gratitude to Terry Carter, our inspiring guest speaker Dr. Sara Naomi Bleich, our incredible event team, our Board of Directors, Tufts University Community Relations, Mystic Valley Area NAACP, and everyone whose generosity keeps this celebration free and accessible to all.
We were especially moved by Jillian Harvey’s call to action: talk with people, get to know your neighbors, stay connected. Change begins right where we are—in our conversations and how we show up for one another.
As Dr. King reminded us, “The end is the creation of the beloved community.” And beloved community isn’t something we wait for—it’s something we practice every day. If we don’t quit, it’s possible.

🎉 Big News from WMMC! 🎉
Thanks to the incredible support of Tufts University Community RelationsTufts Commuity Grant, local businesses Intoppa Painting and Feeney Brothers, Shiloh Baptist Church and our amazing volunteers, staff and Board, our Computer Lab upgrade is complete!
🙌
After a few setbacks, the lab was fully restored by the end of December with fresh paint, upgraded PC stations, new laptops, printer, and comfortable chairs. We’re excited to launch new programs:
✅ Senior Tech Workshops – Learn to navigate technology, book appointments online, and spot online scams.
✅ Youth Workforce Development – Job search tools, career prep, and financial literacy activities.
This project is just the beginning! To sustain and expand these efforts, we are actively seeking future funding opportunities through grants, corporate partnerships, and community-based support. If you or your organization are passionate about digital access, workforce development, and community empowerment, we’d love to connect and explore how you can help us make an even greater impact.
Thank you Tufts, Intoppa Painting, Feeney Brothers, Shiloh Baptist Church and all volunteers, WMCC Board and staff for making this possible! Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community. 💙
