Create a noncombustible zone around your home by keeping the first 5 feet clear of anything that can catch fire—this includes mulch, shrubs, wood piles, and other flammable materials. Instead, use materials like stone, gravel, or bare soil to reduce the risk of embers igniting your home during a wildfire.

Nice job to all those who participated in our Firewise Cleanup Day. In all, 58 residents took part in mitigating vegetation hazards around their property. These efforts make us all safer from wildfire. Thank you also to Tree MD Tree Care for their services.

We have all witnessed the devastation that wildfires can do to a neighborhood. You can do your part in making our neighborhood safer during fire season by, among other things, reducing the amount of flammable vegetation on your property. This year ETHOA's Annual Firewise Cleanup Day is scheduled for Saturday March 15th. This day is intended for residents to do heavier tree trimming or removal and place the trimmings on the street in front of your house. On March 17th, the trimmings will be processed through a chipper and removed from the streets by Tree MD, at no cost to ETHOA homeowners (Paid for by ETHOA). We will provide more information about how to sign up as we get closer to the date.

There are methods for homeowners to prepare their homes to withstand ember attacks and minimize the likelihood of flames or surface fire touching the home.

Below is a picture of our area showing all of Eagle Trace Subdivision in a moderate fire hazard zone, with a high fire hazard zone just to the north and east of us. One of the things you can do right now is sign up for Citizen Alert! 🚨 This is the City's primary notification system where you can receive alerts about emergencies near your home, workplace, child's school, or other important places around town.
