Voting all the way up and down the ballot matters. Each level of government impacts the next in ways you might not think about. And if they don't work together, or they do, it probably impacts you. You might want or need a new bus stop, and the State might agree, but your local government is in charge of zoning, and if they don't agree, the bus stop won't happen. Or, if everyone agrees, you get a bus stop! That's just a small example of why every level of government is important to you. Please share. Meet Ali Sabir — Prepare2Vote Youth Ambassador and a young person who doesn't just talk about change… he shows up for it.
Ali recently testified before the New Jersey Education Committee in support of a bill requiring voting education for 12th graders. A high schooler. In a legislative hearing. Making sure the next generation of voters knows how to use their voice. 👏
This is exactly why he spearheaded Prepare2Vote's Youth Ambassador program — because when people are equipped with the right knowledge and confidence, it empowers them to show up and make a difference, regardless of age.

When people ask us where to get information on candidates, we wsh it wasn't such a challenge to answer them. We need local local news. We also need publications to inform us about who is running for office and what they represent. In the last 13 years or so we've seen a dramatic decline in both.

What is a Primary Election and why does it matter? In New Jersey the Primary Election decided which Democrats and which Republicans will run against each other the General Election. Because that is the purpose only Democrats and Republicans vote. However if you are registered as an Independent, like, you didn't want to pick a party when you registered, you can vote in the Primary at your polling place.
