We started today (Thursday, October 8)like Mother Hubbard with our shelves bare, but ended up with most shelves filled and other area organizations with pallets of food too!

The LDS Church had a semi truck with over 20 pallets of food come and deliver various food items.

They brought an amazing team of volunteers who joined our regular volunteers to make it a fun day of spreading the “wealth” of food.

We were able to serve a food pantry in Butte Falls, Phoenix, Hearts With A Mission, Youth 71:Five, the Kindness Project and more.

We also have a $3,000 challenge going right now to get more food such as vegetables and fruit. If you want to help go to

We have been setting records the last month. We are averaging 180 Households served every week with food. It is near or over 500 individuals.

Last week we ran out of food for the first time in our history.

We are asking for help from our caring community.

See the attached flyer from Food 4 Less and Thunderbird on case prices. Our food pantry manager highlighted items we need for the households who come to us.

Perhaps you have some funds on your snap benefits you can use to get a case on the list and donate to us. Or you want to purchase a case. Great! We will be excited for any help you can give.

We also had a donor create a MATCHING gift challenge for donations up to $3,000. This donor will match it whatever comes in during the next two weeks.

We ran out of food this Friday for the first time ever in our history!

For the last three weeks we have averaged 180 households served with food. This has consisted of an average of 500+ individuals.

We have used up our reserves and our shelves are empty.

Due to cutbacks our supply from ACCESS has been less over the last year and we have had to use our reserves. Now they are gone. We are trusting God will provide so we can continue to serve this who need Our services.

Our volunteers care about the people we serve and their pet Companions.

Rosanne loves to give dogs a special treat. They have come to depend on it and start wagging their tails and barking when they see her coming.

Part of the outreach work we do is provide a hot breakfast on Mondays and Wednesdays as people come to get showers and laundry services.

We also have a refreshment table with hot drinks, hot cereal and other treats as we have them to give away.

At our gathering/prayer circle we celebrated Hank’s 91st Birthday. He says Fridays at Set Free Services is his favorite day of the week.

Every Friday at our community outreach we have volunteers from all over the county come to help us serve the hundreds of people who come.

This past Friday we had over 50 volunteers ranging from 10 to 90 years old.

Here is a picture of our gathering circle at 9:00 am and some random pictures of volunteers at work.

Services included food boxes, showers and laundry for the homeless, clothing and toiletry giveaway, haircuts, free refreshments (coffee, hot chocolate, hot cereal) as well as booths from ACCESS, Max’s Mission and Continuum.

The food pantry served over 400 individuals in 150 households.

This work depends on donations from individuals in the community as well as grants from foundations and businesses.
