We were honored to have 2019 LYS alumni DeShawneigh Iron Cloud visit with us this past weekend. So great to see her, have a meet-up with her Medford pen pal, Sarah, and spend time with some of the 2019 LYS host families! Safe travels home, DeShawneigh! Love those nails!!

Wi******er,MA-based Network for Social Justice, in collaboration with the Griffin Museum and Wright-Locke Farm, is offering a 2-part series of student workshops on "Learning to Honor Indigenous People" through an exploration of history, art, and land.

Part 1 will be on Wednesday, July 7th at the Griffin Museum and Part 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13th, at Wright-Locke Farm. Both locations are in Wi******er, MA. Both sessions are 12-2:30 pm and include lunch / light refreshments. There is more information on the attached flyer.

Some goals of this series are:
- explore aspects of Indigenous history, art, land use, and contemporary experience
- consider and develop ways to engage peers in learning more about what it means to honor Indigenous people
- inspire planning efforts for a celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day to be held in October 2021 at Wright-Locke Farm.

The workshops are open to middle and high school students in Wi******er and surrounding towns. It's preferable but not required to attend both sessions.
