TIPS SOUGHT ON IDENTITY OF CULPRIT IN ARMED ROBBERY AT CONVENIENCE STORE

On Sunday, May 25, at approximately 1:07a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown barrack responded to the Sheetz convenience store located 22711 Three Notch Road in California for the report of an armed robbery.
A culprit wearing a camouflage bandana covering his face, and dressed in a gray shirt and jeans, entered the Sheetz and brandished a handgun at the employees behind the counter, demanding money. Over $300 was stolen from the cash register, along with a Twix candy bar. The culprit then fled the Sheetz on foot in an unknown direction.

THREE MEN IN VEHICLE WOUNDED BY GUNSHOTS

Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office conducting proactive patrols in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 3, heard gunfire at approximately 2 a.m. and immediately responded to the area of Chancellors Run Road and Pegg Road in Great Mills.
Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle with four adult male occupants that had been struck by gunfire. Three of the occupants had sustained gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were flown to an area hospital for treatment and are listed in stable condition. The third victim declined medical care, while the fourth occupant was not injured.
The culprit fled the scene following the shooting.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Pharmacy Burglary

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a pharmacy in the 25000 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown after responding to a commercial burglary alarm early Tuesday morning.
Deputies arrived at the business at approximately 3 a.m. and discovered that the power to the building had been switched off at a breaker box. Upon further inspection, they found evidence of forced entry into the pharmacy and observed clear signs of theft inside.

CULPRIT SOUGHT IN ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the culprit in an attempted kidnapping and armed robbery that occurred on Monday, March 17, in Mechanicsville.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a large belly, brown facial hair, and glasses. He was last seen driving a teal-colored Saturn SUV.
At around 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 28000 block of Old Village Road for a reported attempted robbery. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the female victim, who stated that a man unknown to her approached her, assaulted her, and threatened her with a knife while attempting to force her into his vehicle. The victim fought off the attacker, got into her own car, and fled. The suspect then entered his vehicle and was last seen leaving the area, heading onto southbound Route 235.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately.
If you see an individual or vehicle matching this description, do not approach, as the suspect may be armed and is considered dangerous.

TIPS SOUGHT IN POLICE PROBE OF LEXINGTON PARK SHOOTING

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Lexington Park.
At approximately 1 a.m. on March 5, 2025, deputies responded to the 46000 block of Marshall Boulevard following 911 reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. They immediately rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a regional hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have assumed the case and are actively pursuing leads.

TIPS SOUGHT IN DEATH INVESTIGATION

On Monday, January 27, 2025, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location in the 25000 block of Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood for an emergency medical services call. Upon their arrival, the deputies located a deceased individual.
The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore and has been identified as Matthew Skye Keister, 19, of Hollywood.
Keister was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, January 26; witnesses last saw him on January 20, 2025.

Topics include:

• Understanding Gun Violence in Our Community: A data-driven presentation by a Criminal Investigations Division Crime Analyst on local gun violence trends and statistics. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the scope and impact of firearm-related incidents in St. Mary’s County.

• A Snapshot of Gun-Related Offenses: A presentation by a representative from the Detention and Rehabilitation Center offering an overview of currently incarcerated individuals charged with gun-related crimes.

• Group Violence Intervention (GVI): Discover how the Sheriff’s Office’s GVI program is working to reduce incidents of gun violence by identifying and addressing the drivers of group-related violence.

• The Growing Concern about Ghost Guns: A Detailed Look at Unserialized Fi****ms, commonly known as Ghost Guns. A Detective from the Criminal Investigations Division will discuss the challenges these weapons pose to law enforcement and ongoing efforts to address their proliferation in the community.

The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and engage with Sheriff’s Office personnel.

REWARD OFFERED FOR TIPS ON BURGLARY, THEFT OF GUNS
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a Charlotte Hall location for an alarm call at a business that sells guns at approximately 11:53 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the front window of GLR Enterprise shattered. A search of the premises determined no suspects were inside the store. The preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified individual or individuals broke into the business and stole several muzzle-loading rifles before fleeing the scene.
