🚨 please read Silver Spring residents!

Silver Spring Township has declared a Township-wide Snow Emergency effective 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, until noon Monday, January 26, in anticipation of a significant winter storm forecasted for the region. This declaration is made in accordance with the Township’s ordinance governing snow emergencies.

During the duration of the emergency, we are encouraging residents to avoid parking or leaving any vehicle parked on any public street within the Township.

As a reminder, under Township ordinance, once a snow emergency is declared, only vehicles equipped with snow tires, or chains may operate on Township roadways. Residents are strongly encouraged to remain off the roads entirely unless necessary or in the event of an emergency.

Township snow removal operations will prioritize main roads and emergency routes. Crews will begin clearing residential developments once primary roads are passable and safe. Residents should allow up to 12 hours after the end of snowfall for plowing of local roads to be completed.

For emergency situations, residents should call 911. For non-emergency questions related to the snow emergency, please contact the Township office at 717-766-0178 during normal business hours.
