The Purple Feet Foundation (PFF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on getting students to think about their future. Since 2010 we have hosted the thinc Program – a week-long residential experience for inner-city sixth grade students. Students from Harrisburg (PA), Philadelphia (PA) and Prince George’s County (MD) have participated to date, and each year we add students and teachers from a new part of the country. Lifelong educators, we founded PFF in 2010 to honor the memory of our daughter, Grace. We truly believe that often times people we never meet have the greatest impact on our lives.

We’ve had a lot of proud moments in the 17 years of PFF. Today’s PFF Cares service opportunity is at the top of the list. We spent time decorating pumpkins, playing games, and getting to know 20 residents at a local nursing and care facility. The kids were so impressive. Attentive, focused, kind, and caring. We can’t wait to go back on November 14. https://www.purplefeetfoundation.org/pff-cares.html

For this year’s PFF Cares service opportunity, our students have chosen to brighten the season for local nursing home residents - spending quality time playing games, creating holiday crafts together, and delivering handcrafted blankets to keep them warm. Harrisburg crew, we have two spots left for our first nursing home visit on October 17. We’ll be decorating pumpkins, playing bingo, and gifting the residents a warm blanket for the fall season.

So proud of our PFF kids for spending several hours today, along with an amazing group of VU students, to make 30 blankets for our PFF Cares service project. Over the next few months, we are visiting nursing homes in our communities to spread some holiday cheer. https://www.purplefeetfoundation.org/pff-cares.html
