We’re grateful to Edward Jones Financial Advisor Sarah Popovich for sponsoring “More than a Housekeeper: Lydia Hamilton Smith’s Life and Untold Legacy” at Pathways Institute at Landis Homes.

This course explored the remarkable life of Lydia Hamilton Smith, her relationship with Congressman Thaddeus Stevens and the important role she played in the fight to end slavery and advance civil rights.

We are grateful to Mechanicsburg Museum Association for a fascinating tour of Mechanicsburg’s historic treasures. Attendees enjoyed visiting the train station and Frankenberger Tavern, the town’s oldest structure; hearing the pump organ played at Union Church, and discovering the significant role railroads played in the region.
