🐾 AFTER MORE THAN A YEAR, CELESTE WAS FINALLY CHOSEN 🐾
Some cats find homes quickly.
Others wait.
And wait.
And wait.
Sweet Celeste spent more than a year in rescue, watching other cats come and go while she patiently waited for someone to see past her shyness.
At our PetSmart event, that day finally came.
Celeste was nervous. In fact, she was so nervous that we weren't able to get an adoption photo. New situations can be overwhelming for her, and that's okay.
But none of that mattered to her new mom.
She saw something special in Celeste and knew she was the one.
As she completed the adoption, tears filled her eyes. She understood that Celeste wasn't just another cat. She was a cat who had waited a very long time for someone willing to give her the patience, understanding, and love she needed.
And someone finally did.
Tonight, Celeste is beginning a brand-new chapter. We know the transition may take time, but for the first time in over a year, she'll be learning what it means to have a home and a family all her own.
Happy tails, sweet Celeste. Your wait was worth it. 💗🐾

🐾 TWO SURVIVORS. ONE PERFECT FAMILY. 🐾
Some adoption stories stay with you forever. ❤️
At our PetSmart adoption event, a mom and her two children stopped to read the stories of Wilson and Koala.
Koala was the sole survivor of her litter, a tiny kitten who beat incredible odds to be here today.
Wilson survived a broken leg as a kitten. By the time he was rescued, it had healed on its own. Amputation was considered, but he was using the leg well, so we gave him the chance to keep it, and he's done great.
As the family learned their stories, the children became emotional. They weren't just looking at kittens. They were seeing two little survivors.
The boy immediately connected with Wilson and asked to hold him. The moment Wilson was placed in his arms, everyone knew something special was happening.
But then they fell in love with Koala, too.
Watching Wilson and Koala snuggle into those children was one of those rescue moments we'll never forget. The kids didn't just fall in love with adorable kittens. They fell in love with their stories, their resilience, and their second chance.
Tonight, these two best friends are starting their new adventure together with a family that already loves them dearly.
Happy tails, Wilson and Koala. We couldn't have dreamed of a better ending. 💗🐾

🐾 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY AT PETSMART! 🐾
Yesterday was one for the books!
A total of 9 cats found homes Saturday . Seven were adopted through our PetSmart event, and two more found wonderful barn homes with volunteers.
From longtime residents finally getting their chance, to kittens finding families who instantly fell in love, there were happy tears, smiles, and unforgettable moments all around.
Today reminded us why rescue matters. Every cat has a story, and today nine of those stories received a beautiful new chapter.
Over the coming week, we'll be sharing the individual stories behind these adoptions, including some moments that had all of us reaching for the tissues. ❤️
Thank you to our adopters, volunteers, fosters, donors, and supporters for making days like this possible.
Tonight, 9 OCAF cats are sleeping in homes of their very own. 🐾💗

The strangest squirrels I've ever seen...
These two juvenile squirrels were found in Hart, Michigan. They are active, bright, and eating well, but they're almost completely hairless except for fur on their heads and feet!
We're trying to connect with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or squirrel expert who can help determine whether this is a genetic condition, hair loss from an illness, or something else entirely.
They are currently safe and warm while we search for help.
If you have experience with wildlife rehabilitation or know someone who does, please message me or tag them below!
📍 Hart, MI 🐿️ Please share! These little oddballs could use some expert help. ❤️
