Congratulations Safi!

Safiatou Compaore '23 has been awarded the U.S. Department of State Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. An international studies major and Arabic minor, Compaore will participate in the Council on International Educational Exchange program in Amman, Jordan, focusing on Middle East studies.

"I plan on strengthening my Arabic language skills and gaining more knowledge of Middle Eastern culture," she says.

Compaore joins the ranks of many Allegheny students who use their Gilman scholarships to fund all kinds of study away opportunities, from short-term Experiential Learning trips to full academic years in countries around the world.

Here are some photos from our first Bonner dinner of the year! It was great to welcome our first-years and get together for an in-person event.
