As we continue CNA week, we are welcoming our newest member to the team!

Meet Jack, CNA

Jack began his nursing career in 1987, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to providing compassionate care and support to those in need.

Before joining Hospice of Crawford County, Jack dedicated 40 years to serving the Crawford County Care Center, where he built lasting relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.

Jack chose hospice care because he values the opportunity to work more closely with patients and provide personalized, one-on-one care during some of lifeโ€™s most important moments. He finds great fulfillment in helping patients and families navigate their hospice journey with comfort, dignity, and compassion.

We are excited to welcome Jack to the Hospice of Crawford County team and look forward to the compassionate care he will provide to our patients and families.

Thank you to our incredible CNA's as we recognize them during National Nursing Assistant Week!

CNA Spotlight: Kayley, CNA

Kayley has always enjoyed helping people since she was little. She wanted a career where she could comfort and advocate for others. Kayley says it is very rewarding to know that she helps make a difference in peopleโ€™s lives.

Kayley has been a part of so many great experiences that hospice has made happen for its patients. A recent favorite of hers was the last hunting trip for one of the patients. With this last hunt, many stories were shared by the patient with the nurses. Through these stories, Kayley and the patient discovered they had visited nearby places when they were younger. This is a memory that Kayley thinks about daily.

Kayley has always had a special place in her heart for hospice patients. Kayley feels she is lucky because most people donโ€™t get to be a part of someoneโ€™s end-of-life journey. She feels it is a privilege. She gets to walk into a patientโ€™s home never having met them before and then make their last days a little brighter.๐Ÿ’™

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing CNA's as we celebrate National Nursing Assistants Week!

CNA Spotlight: Sam, CNA

Samโ€™s passion for healthcare ignited in childhood when she witnessed the exceptional care her grandfather received from nurses and home health aides. These experiences instilled the profound importance of empathy and compassionate care in her. Discovering her true calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant gave her this immense joy in providing hands-on care to her patients.

Sam has many great memories in her work with Hospice of Crawford County. Listening to life stories and rich life histories of patients is one of her favorite parts of the job. She also loves being a comforting and steady presence for patients and their loved ones during their most vulnerable moments. Sam says that some of the best moments in her career are assisting patients in fulfilling their final wishes, such as reuniting with loved ones or savoring a favorite meal.

Sam chose hospice because she deeply values the opportunity to offer emotional, spiritual, and physical support to patients and their families during profoundly meaningful moments.๐Ÿ’™
