Meadville Volunteer Income Tax Assistance The VITA program has operated for over 50 years.

The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals. VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:

- People who generally make $67,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers

Does Your Child Qualify for the Child Tax Credit? Use the IRS Interactive Tax Assistant to find out! This interview will help you determine if a person qualifies you for the child tax credit or the credit for other dependents.

Information you'll need:

=>Your filing status.
=>Whether you can claim the person as a dependent.
=>The person's date of birth.
