🐾 Lucy Needs Our Help 🐾

Lucy came into rescue as an urgent shelter pull. When we learned she needed help, Katie stepped forward, completed an adoption application, and GSGSR immediately rescued her.
At just 8 weeks old—or possibly even younger—Lucy had already been spayed. She spent time in a loving foster home until her forever family was ready to welcome her home.

Today, Lucy is surrounded by love. She has three little human siblings who absolutely adore her, and Lucy loves her kids right back. She has become an irreplaceable member of their family.

But recently, Katie noticed something concerning about Lucy’s front right leg. We acted quickly and scheduled a veterinary evaluation. X-rays confirmed that Lucy has a deformity that requires surgical intervention. As she continues to grow, the condition is worsening week by week.

Lucy has an appointment with the specialists at UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital on July 1st, and it is likely that surgery will need to happen soon after.

This is a condition rarely seen, especially in such a young puppy, and the medical expenses are expected to be significant.
The financial burden is overwhelming, but we are determined to give Lucy the care she needs.

That’s why we are asking for your help.

Every donation made to GSGSR will go directly toward Lucy’s medical care and treatment. Your support will help ensure that Lucy can remain where she belongs—with the family who loves her so much.

❤️ Lucy needs her family, and her family needs Lucy.
We will continue providing updates on Lucy’s journey every step of the way. Please consider donating and sharing this post to help us give Lucy the healthy, happy future she deserves.

Thank you for supporting Lucy and her family. 🐾

🐾 Stacey & Tracey Are Looking for Their Forever Families 🐾
These beautiful German Shepherd sisters have been settling into foster care and are doing amazing.

💕 Stacey is the curious one. She loves exploring, watching everything around her, and figuring out how the world works.

💕 Tracey is the brave adventurer. She’s confident, outgoing, and usually the first to try something new.

Together, they are playful, affectionate, and full of personality.

✅ Potty trained with guidance and regular outdoor breaks
✅ Learning basic commands like sit and stay
✅ Socialized and doing great with other dogs
✅ Healthy, happy, and adjusting beautifully to their new environment
✅ Ready to become loyal companions for a lucky family

Every day they gain confidence, learn new things, and show us just how special they are.

🐾 Because every puppy deserves a family that will love them for life.

This is a bit of a miracle. Maggie was a foster fail for us four years ago. We love having her here as she gets along great with Buddy, but she has always had a degree of dog reactivity that has been challenging to manage.

We are now fostering Levi for Golden State German Shepherd Rescue ... our first since we adopted Maggie. I was honestly concerned about how she might react to Levi, but we have several fenced in spaces to keep them apart.

This morning we carefully introduced them to each other and the video below is evidence of what happened. Wow!

As you can see, Levi is a beautiful bi-colored male but this also demonstrates what a great temperament he has. He will be available for adoption early next week and some lucky family is going to inherit him. If you have a playful female dog that could be the ideal environment for him.

It's first come first served, so fill out your adoption questionnaire at https://gsgsrescue.org/adopt/ if you're interested!

P.S. This is also evidence of how excellent Jayne Goad
Is at picking great dogs :)

Stunningly gorgeous Levi was a shelter favorite. He was picked up as a stray and has been waiting for his forever home since February 18th. He received zero interest but as of today, Levi is now an official member of Golden State German Shepherd Rescue.

He is settlingly in well in his new foster home and doesn't seemed bothered by his two obnoxious foster siblings (intros are being taken slowly).

Levi appears crate trained and is a great traveler. He is a quick study and is learning Rules, Boundaries, and Limitations.

Please watch FB as we will continue to post updates as we get to know more about this handsome guy.

Levi will be available for adoption soon.

This is K9 Valor. He saved 47 soldiers. He survived a su***de bomber, then went on to stop three more, fighting tooth against knife. In the end, he placed himself between an explosion and his handler.

The blast shattered half his face. He lost his left eye and ear. He was flown to Germany, where surgeons worked to rebuild his jaw.

At the Pentagon, he was honored with a standing ovation that lasted over eight minutes.

A true American hero🇺🇸
