I (Cheyenne) woke up to a SLEW of messages and texts this morning asking about how to help our fire departments monetarily. We are so glad we live in a great community where people want to help, but I learned we need some more clarification. I apologize for any confusion we have caused.

The collaboration with Ashland Community Foundation is for fire victims, not the fire departments themselves. If you want to donate to fire victims, please make your donations to Ashland Community Foundation!

You can ALWAYS go through us to donate to any non-profit of your choice, but right now our Fire Departments are going to need some help rebuilding following nearly a week straight of fighting these fires.

Link for online donations, please put "Meade Co. Fire Depts" in the notes or specify where you would like them to go: https://meadeccf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1013

Make checks out to: Meade County Community Foundation and put "Meade Co. Fire Depts" in the memo or specify where you would like them to go. Checks may be dropped off at any Integrity or Stockgrowers location or mailed to PO Box 1302, Meade, KS 67864.

Thank you all for your generosity and please continue to pray for rain and relief!

We've had several reach out wanting to know how they can help with the fire relief for our producers and landowners who have lost their homes and livelihoods. In partnership with the Ashland Community Foundation, we have a fund set up at the Meade and Ashland Stockgrowers locations to do just that. You may also send payments directly to Ashland Community Foundation or make them online via their Paypal. 100% of these funds will go DIRECTLY to those affected, no funds will be taken out.

We are praying for those who continue to face damage, devastation, and loss, and certainly for moisture! A HUGE shoutout to the firefighters and first responders who have tirelessly fought these fires and coordinated emergency efforts the past FIVE days. We are thankful for you all and know words will never be able to show how much we appreciate you all.

Note: Application information and forms will be available at a later date through Ashland Community Foundation.

Our social media spotlights a lot of what we do for nonprofits, but we don't always a great job of showcasing the donor side as well.

The Director's favorite type of fund donors can set up: a Donor Advised Fund (DAF).

A. It is truly a way where MCCF partners with you as donors to support causes close to your heart.
B. These can be a great legacy, passing the advisor role on to your children and grandchildren. Thus, promoting philanthropy in Meade County for generations to come!
C. There can be great tax-benefits to these. Contact your accountant to learn more!

Give us a call to discuss DAFs further!

On April 1, Director Cheyenne, Board President Cindy, and Board Treasurer Casie, attended the Community Campaign Accelerator Bootcamp in Wichita facilitated by Kansas Association of Community Foundations and Giving Tuesday. We are so thankful for this opportunity to help us learn how to work closer with our community and be more efficient fundraisers. This will benefit our nonprofits and help build our sustainability for years to come!

MCCF would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the Patterson Family Foundation for funding this opportunity for our community foundation, as well as several others around the state of Kansas! We are looking forward to future sessions and more collab time with our team throughout the rest of 2026.
