Kick of the first official day of summer on Saturday, June 20, at Lindsborg's Midsummer Festival, a traditional Swedish festival! 🇸🇪 💐

This annual event is celebrated worldwide, and is a fun-filled day for the entire family, including a Kubb Tournament (registration begins at 11 am), Swedish Dancing, craft demonstrations, food vendors (including the Lindsborg Swedish Folk dancers serving Viking-on-a-Stick), Vikings, and more! The evening concludes with a Midsummer's tradition of a free swim (8:30-10:30pm).

All this and more, downtown and at Riverside Park, located at 500 S. 1st Street!

It's , and McPherson County has a very unique way to get from point A to B! Check it out! 🚲

The Meadowlark Trail is now officially open! The rail-trail passes through gentle hills and creek valleys in the 12.6 miles between Lindsborg and McPherson on the old Union Pacific Railroad railbed. It crosses eleven bridges and, at one point, follows the east bank of the Smoky Hill River. The trail travels through beautiful country – geologically rich area with several different types of soil and an abundance of wildlife. It’s a rails-to-trails route with beautiful fields and tree canopies along the way. It crosses an old rail flatcar which serves as a bridge. In the North, the trail begins at the southern endpoint of the paved 4.75 Valkommen Trail in Lindsborg (Little Sweden USA) at the Old Mill Campground and the southern endpoint is at 1300 Moccasin Rd. in McPherson near Hess Park.

Go McPherson recently hosted our annual Industry Experience Day, giving local high school students the chance to step inside some of our community’s leading industries.

From touring facilities to hands-on activities and real conversations with employees, students explored career pathways in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and more—all without leaving McPherson County.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners: Viega LLC, Plastics Extrusion Machinery (PEM), Turbochargers Solutions International (TSI), Pfizer Pfizer , and Central Plastics for opening your doors and investing in the next generation.

UPDATE! Tonight and tomorrow's McPherson County All Schools Day May Fete performances have been moved to the McPherson High School auditorium.

What is All Schools Day? 🤔 We're glad you asked! 🤩

For more than 110 years, All Schools Day has brought McPherson County together to celebrate students, schools and community. What started as an eighth-grade graduation in 1914 has grown into a full week of events that feel like a countywide reunion.

From the May Fete performances and the downtown parade to Madathon, the carnival, and fireworks, this is a week packed with tradition, energy and hometown pride.
