Yamhill County 4-H Oregon

Yamhill County 4-H Oregon 4-H is a youth development program of the OSU Extension Service. 4-H is a youth outreach program of the Oregon State University Extension Service.

It is present in nearly every county across the United States, in 30 other countries and on every Army Base around the world. It reaches 8 million youth annually. Although most people think 4-H is all about cooking or cows, it is really about building productive and successful citizens through youth development. Youth development is defined as: the process of growing up and developing one’s capac

ities in positive ways. Research shows that when you get involved in meaningful activities in the context of your community not only does it promote healthy development (in terms of careers, life skills, and leadership), but it also has positive outcomes like providing motivation to avoid health risks during the teen years.
4-H programs have a strong, lasting influence on young people and their health behaviors. 4-H alumni share three common characteristics:
1) strong leadership skills
2) a sense of family and community
3) being active, productive, and caring citizens.

WE DID IT YAMHILL COUNTY! WE UNLOCKED OUR CHALLENGE GIFT!

There is still time to give if you’ve been waiting but we are so grateful for all of our donors and supporters that have shared!

HAPPY Dam Proud Day! I hope that you will consider supporting Oregon 4-H on April 29th! This year, 4-H is fundraising for 4-H Summer Conference and county program support across the state. By donating TODAY your gift will go even further, helping to unlock various challenge gifts with the potential to add over $90,000 back into Oregon 4-H!

With just 10 donations, Yamhill County 4-H can unlock an additional $10,000 with the Yamhill County Challenge Gift brought to you by local 4-H supporters John and Rosi Nyberg. Check out what Yamhill County 4-H is fundraising for at this year's Dam Proud Day below:

Yamhill County 4-H is growing the next generation of leaders rooted in service, confidence and community. Through hands-on learning experiences in agriculture, STEM, leadership and the arts, our youth are not just gaining skills; they’re discovering their spark.

From caring for animals and exploring robotics to giving back through service projects and mentoring younger members, 4-H youth are building the confidence and character that will carry them into the future.

This past year, Yamhill County 4-H has:
-Expanded leadership opportunities through our County Ambassador program.
-Provided meaningful community service experiences, including food drives, shelter support and outreach events.
-Created spaces for youth to showcase their learning at events like our county fair and educational contests.
-Begun building pathways to reach more youth through school enrichment and community partnerships.
But we know there is more to do.
Our goal is to make 4-H accessible to every young person in Yamhill County — especially those who may not yet see themselves reflected in our programs.

With your support on giving day, we can expand in-school programming, increase outreach to underserved communities and remove barriers so that all youth have the opportunity to belong, learn and lead.

Every gift, no matter the size, directly supports local youth. It helps provide program materials, leadership development opportunities, scholarships and hands-on experiences that make learning come alive.
Together, we are growing more than projects — we are growing confident, capable and compassionate young people who will shape the future of our communities.
