Saturday Morning Breakfast MCM

Saturday Morning Breakfast MCM A delicious breakfast is served every Saturday from 8-10 am at McMinnville Cooperative Ministries to feed hungry bodies and souls.

During the coronavirus crisis, we are continuing to serve breakfast via to go boxes. Breakfast is served every Saturday from 8am to 10am at McMinnville Cooperative Ministries, 544 NE 2nd Street in downtown McMinnville. This is very much a community breakfast but is specifically intended for those who are homeless or with little means. Menu items vary from week to week but may include scrambled egg

s, pancakes, skillet potatoes, bacon, biscuits, burritos, etc. We also serve orange juice as available, coffee and tea, as well as various snacks to take with. Our intention is for this to be a ministry not just of the Coop but a ministry of the Yamhill County community. Therefore we encourage church groups, service groups and individuals to volunteer as frequently or infrequently as they desire. They can help prep the food, cook, serve, run the dishwasher and do clean up. It takes a team of about 12 - 14 volunteers to serve an average of 175 - 200 guests each Saturday. We welcome all who are willing to serve. Volunteer Positions:
Food Prep- Meets the head chef on Friday, for about 2 hours in the kitchen to peel, slice, dice, etc. to prep the food for Saturday morning.
3 Cooks - volunteers who like to cook. We supply a head cook with a food handler’s license to run the show and hand out tasks.
3 Servers – Follow the guidance of our Front of House for the day. Welcome guests with smiles (behind your masks) and respect. Deliver the to-go boxes from the kitchen to the front porch, take orders from our guests and hand out the boxes, makes coffee or tea to order in to-go cups. Be the face of SMB to the community.
1 Platers – receive the meal orders and plate the food
1 Coffee Maker – keeps the carafes and airpots filled
1 Dishwasher
2 Clean-up crew – helps sweep, mop, and disinfect surfaces at the end of service

It is rare that we have a separate clean-up crew! We just all pitch in and help get it done. The cooks and coffee maker arrive at 7am
The plater and servers arrive at 7:30am
The dishwashers arrive at 8 am
The clean-up crew arrives at 9:45am to overlap with the dishwashers. Cleanup is usually done by 11:30am

We train everyone who volunteers for these jobs and instruct them on how to use the equipment. Masks are provided if you don't already have one. Disposable gloves and clean aprons are provided as well.. During this pandemic, please sign-up ahead of time to volunteer, and don't just show up. We need to know we have enough people to complete the tasks but don't want to have so many we can't keep a good distance from each other. To volunteer please contact:
