Studies show that LGBTQ+ youth are significantly more likely to experience suicidal thoughts and self-harm, particularly when they face rejection, discrimination, or abuse. The good news is that supportive families, trusted adults, and affirming communities dramatically reduce those risks.

Hope & Healing Case Manager / Skills Trainer
Join our Hope & Healing Counseling Center team and provide direct support to children and families impacted by trauma. This role combines case management, skills training, service coordination, and client support to help families access the resources and tools they need to heal and grow.

HOT DAYS, SAFE KIDS
As temperatures climb across Oregon, it's important to remember that children are especially vulnerable to extreme heat. Their bodies heat up faster, and they depend on the grown-ups in their lives to help keep them safe.

A few simple steps can make a big difference:
💧 Encourage children to drink water often—even before they say they're thirsty.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air-conditioned spaces.
👕 Dress kids in lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🏃 Schedule outdoor play for the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.
🚗 NEVER leave a child in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute. Temperatures inside a car can become deadly in a very short time.

Watch for warning signs such as dizziness, excessive fatigue, headaches, nausea, or unusual irritability. Heat-related illness can develop quickly and become a medical emergency. If a child becomes confused, unresponsive, or loses consciousness, call 911 immediately.

Every Child Deserves Safety and Belonging

🌈 This Pride Month, we celebrate a simple truth: every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and accepted for who they are.

Research consistently shows that LGBTQ+ youth experience higher rates of bullying, abuse, family rejection, depression, and self-harm compared to their peers. Supportive adults and affirming communities can make a life-changing difference.

At Juliette's House, we believe every child deserves protection, healing, and the opportunity to thrive. When children know they are seen, heard, and accepted, they are more likely to reach out when they need help and more likely to find hope during difficult times.

🎉 We Have a Winner! 🎉

☀️🔥❄️ HELP WANTED: COOL AIR RESCUE MISSION ❄️🔥☀️

Friends, we have a situation.

The sun has officially decided to move into our Prevention office full-time, and it is not paying rent. We are currently operating in what can only be described as a “lightly sautéed professional environment.” Pens are sweating. Computers are questioning their life choices. Humans are… persevering.

So we are putting out a highly urgent, extremely serious (but also slightly dramatic) request:
Does anyone have a portable stand-up air conditioner they are willing to donate for the summer months?

We promise it will be:
- Treated like royalty 👑
- Spoken to respectfully (“good morning, Your Chillness”)
- Given prime office placement

In return, you’ll receive our eternal gratitude, which is worth approximately 3–5 degrees of perceived temperature reduction, and unlimited bragging rights at dinner parties.
